Where to boost and cut EQ

Using this simple technique I can almost always find where to boost and cut with EQ. It's simple enough that you can learn it and put it into use pretty quickly and it works with all types of EQ. The best way to practise this is with an EQ that doesn't show you any visuals like an SSL emulation. In this example we are use eq on vocals but this works with just about anything.
