Xfer Serum Tutorial DnB Roller Bass

Why not follow along with the video?

In this tutorial were going to make some drum and bass serum presets for roller style basses.

Starting off go to the init preset for Xfer Serum, Its just the default sawwave.

For the tutorial were using the PWM Juno wavetable. Id suggest follow along and make the patch and then tryout new wavetables and routing ideas from there.

Put the WT (wavestable) position to 64 to mimic the same tone.

Set the unison to 3 on OSC1 and link LFO 1 to the unison detune setting. This lets the width of the detune move in and out in phase while synced to the track tempo, This is what gives the sound its crazy pulsing width.
Link up the blend to the same LFO 1. Blend adjusts the balance of the unison adding to the pulse.

Create a shape similar to this this. I find non perfect shapes give a way more interesting sound, Then being absolutely on point and time. Up to you though.

Switch up OSC B to Crush Wub waves table. which is basically just lots of wobbly sines. Link upo that WT to the LFO as well. Well look a bit like this now.

After this were going into the matrix view to link the master tuning to the envelope 1 ADHSR. With slight detune in place, this lets us have a very quick pitch shift when a new note triggers

Last steps programing the synth we switch on the sub and noise OSC. We want rounded square in sub and SH1 in noise.
